BCWSA Utility Services Board Adopts 2027 Budget with No Water or Sewer Rate Hikes

WARRINGTON, PA – The BCWSA Utility Services (BCWSA) Board of Directors recently
approved the 2027 water and sewer budgets, keeping rates unchanged for customers of both
utilities next year.

The combined 2027 operating budgets for BCWSA’s water and sewer systems total $102.2
million, with sewer operations representing most of the expenditures.

The budget includes BCWSA’s ongoing investments to reduce inflow and infiltration by
identifying and repairing leaks and other points where groundwater and stormwater enter the
sanitary sewer system. The work has included inspecting sewer lines, repairing and replacing
aging infrastructure, monitoring sewer flows, and improving the Neshaminy Interceptor.

In addition, BCWSA’s investments will continue to maintain the highest quality drinking water,
including its well sites in New Hope Borough and Solebury Township. The Authority has made
significant progress in addressing PFAS, commonly known as “forever chemicals,” with
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection testing results showing substantial
declines in PFAS concentrations over the past two years.
